The 2nd Annual LOS ANGELES TAMALE FESTIVAL launches at 11:00AM Friday, September 8th, 2006 and ends on Sunday, September 10th, 2006. Admission is FREE.
The community will have the opportunity to participate in the free TAMALE COOKING CLASSES giving by Celebrity Chefs Jaime and Ramiro of Mi Casita Restaurant located in Bell CA.
Come and experience various types and flavors of TAMALES. Entertainment highlights include SONORA DINAMITA and the ERNIE G Comedy Show as well as large variety of music which includes Mariachi, Trio, Pop, Soul, Rock en Espanol plus many much more. For the Kids we have carnival games, Petting Zoo, Arts and Crafts. A resource pavillion and our most anticipated TAMALE JUDGING CONTEST. We invite the public to join us for a great weekend!
Last year this event was staged in downtown Los Angeles near Chinatown, across from the Los Angeles State Historical Park, where thirty-seven acres of corn were growing in the field. We had a great attendance of 35,000+ visitors for a first time event! This year we are anticipate 60,000 due to the venue SALAZAR PARK which is centrally located in Los Angeles and Freeway Close to the 5 Santa Ana, 60 Pomona and 710 Long Beach fwys.
