Jewish Poetry as Music and Music as Poetry




The show will explore the ecstatic coition of the art mediums, through poetry that incorporates musical elements & themes, and through music that breathes poetics. Think jazz-poetry, ghazals in reverb, Yiddish-speaking oud, and slam-scat with the bass-drum!



Featuring: Basya Schechter (of Pharaoh's Daughter) & Friends, Jake Marmer and Frantic Turtle, Jay Michaelson (Zeek), Adam Schechter, Mima’amakim Poets, and special guests!



Presented by the mima'amakim journal of jewish art & zeek magazine in conjunction with New York Jewish Music Festival.
