AUSTIN, TX – Gallery Shoal Creek presents a solo exhibition for Texas landscape master Carroll Collier this September. The show will celebrate the artist's career and his long standing association with the gallery which began in 1974. Carroll paints in a realistic style enlivened by saturated color and a dreamlike quality amplified by soft edges. His inspiration comes from seeking those everyday places in nature that emanate his own sense of beauty. Meet the artist at an opening reception on September 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The show is on view through October 18.

This fall show features 18 new paintings largely the result of the artist’s extensive travels across the United States blended with the tranquil country that surrounds his home in North Texas. The scenes themselves are iconic in their rendering of trees, big rolling skies, streams, and rural back country. But the subject matter is second to the calm, other-worldly beauty that seeps through the color, composition and poetic mood of each painting to envelop us.
