This week enjoy dinner at Kiki's Bistro:

"“There’s a reason the classics are classic” crow confreres of this “real bistro” that “looks like it belongs in the French countryside”, despite its River North setting; the “mature crowd” that calls it a “cozy” and “affordable” “delight” with “consistent preparations” of “traditional fare” says it “never changes, thank goodness”, though some “underwhelmed” upstarts find “nothing memorable” about this “old-fashioned” offering." - Zagat.com

"This is one of the best bistros in Chicago, and it’s an oasis in a desert storm of mediocre spots attempting to do the same thing. Quiet and civilized, Kiki's has a pleasant French country inn atmosphere. Nothing seems to escape the eye of proprietor Georges Kiki Cuisance, whose steadiness extends to his sharply dressed waitstaff. We can honestly say that we have never had a bad meal here, or that service has not been top-notch. We favor the daily fish specials as well as the steak frites, salade niçoise and, for dessert, the crème brûlée---the chocolate on the bottom adds a particular panache. You’ll find most every bistro staple, from duck confit to lemony roasted chicken. Wines are fairly priced, and the valet parking is free. Enjoy wine flights and cheese plates in the bar in the evening, or dine early and enjoy three courses from a select menu for $25." - Gayot.com
