Before the tempest… after the storm draws you into a mythological world where Marston imagines the pre and post story of Shakespeare’s The Tempest. With an original score incorporating extracts from Ovid and W H Auden, the piece contrasts the earthy, primal relationship of Caliban and his mother, Sycorax, with the elegant, ethereal dialogue of Prospero and Ariel.

Inspired by a recent trip to Cuba, the World Premiere of Arcana draws on Afro-Cuban folklore music, presenting a vibrant fusion of colour and passion. In an upbeat and sensual play on rhythm and movement, the dancers are set alight with dazzling costumes.

Originally created for dancers of the Royal Ballet, Traces presents a dance ‘soap opera’ of emotions, bringing alive the music of Yann Tierson, composer of the score for Amelie.
