When & Where...

...so I guess the first order of business is a date and location!

The big Starbucks' on Briggate and Albion Street seem large and accessible enough - with the bonus of wifi and cakes :)

As to indie places, Northern Light (if it's still open?), Oracle (http://www.oraclebar.com/), Baby Jupiter, and the Arts Cafe (http://www.artscafebar.co.uk/) could be interesting options.

On dates - I'm thinkin' 7/8/12/13/19/20 June?

Replies:
The Oracle sounds nice actually. Give Stabucks a miss, they get far too much business :) Go for one of the indie places...

I can only do 12/13 or 19. An independent place would be better that the awful Starbucks. Arts is good. Give me a shout offline if you need a hand with anything.

Yeah, Starbucks have some sort of world domination plan, but I suspect I won't be the only one who might appreciate the wi-fi (or the cakes).

What sort of time are you thinking of?

OK, I'll chekc with Arts to see how many they can accomodate...though I'm leaning towards the cakes and wifi!

12/13/19 is good for me - 10-12am?

Weekends or evenings are great. Really interested in this event, opencoffee sounds like a good idea... I'm a guest author for readwriteweb.com occasionally and read about it there.

Sorry to sound a bit of a Noob here but i'm John Slater co-founder of www.feedmailer.net. I would be interested in coming, i would get the other co-founder and maybe a few other friends, although i dont know many geeky friends because i like to feel superior.

Once you settle the date(s) i will tell Chris (the other founder) and find out if he fancies a trip east to Leeds.

Hey John - we'd love to have you both along...don't worry about being a noob or not having geeky friends, hopefully you'll make some at OpenCoffee :)

I'll talk to a few friends tommorow and hoep to fix a date in the next couple days...likely 12th June.

Sounds good, i will speak to Mr. Chris. I suppose we reall want to come and speak to a few people about different online things, we may all be able to inspire each other. I will keep checking back at this thread for updates. What time do these 'gigs' normally go 'down'?

Feel free to GTAL/GMAIL me slater.john@gmail.com
or Windows Live Messenger me (if anyone still uses it) slater.john@gmail.com also.

Look forward to MAYBE coming, i will get Chris' feedback tomorrow.

Might be worthwhile considering getting some sponsors - one of the big law firms or Yorkshire Forward

So do we have the finalised details yet? 12th of June is good for me, not sure what time you have planned, but any time in the afternoon is good.
