Captain Cook and the Perils of the Sea
Sunday 29th March, 14:00 – 15:00
National Maritime Museum, Park Row, Greenwich
Explore the story of Captain Cook with guide John Wilson. His expeditions took him around the globe to encounter tattoos in Tahiti, arctic ice and two very different experiences in Hawaii. Shipwreck expert Serena Cant will then explain the dangers faced by navigators and the lives lost at sea as we charted our oceans and underline the great achievement of 'the most able and enlightened navigator that England ever produced.’
This event will be presented in British Sign Language and English, with an interpreter.
Free, no booking required.
