Texas Libertarians:

We want you to file for office as a Libertarian Party candidate right
away. I must receive a fax of your application no later than this
Monday, January 2, 5:00 PM. Fax to 512-233-0613.

You don't have to run an active campaign or spend money. We just want
voters to have the opportunity to vote Libertarian in as many races as
possible. Some of you will run more active campaigns and that is
great. One of the biggest contributions you can make to the Libertarian
Party is to agree to be a candidate. Please take these steps now, or
contact me to discuss it further. We're well over 100 candidates, and
shooting for 200.

1. Go to this website to see which districts you live in (or check your
voter registration card):
http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/fyi/fyi.htm>http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/fyi/fyi.htm

2. Check this site for our list of candidates who have already filed as
well as the open races (this is updated daily):
http://www.lptexas.org/AllOfficesList.html

3. The qualifications for office are listed here:
http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/candidates/guide/qualifications.shtml

4. For US Congress, you do not have to live in the district you run
for, so for anyone 25 years old (by Nov 7, 2006) and wanting to run for
Congress, we have an opening for you.

5. If you want to explore the district maps more closely, visit
(requires high speed connection):
http://gis1.tlc.state.tx.us/>http://gis1.tlc.state.tx.us/

6. Fill out the "APPLICATION FOR NOMINATION BY ________ CONVENTION OF
______" form:
http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/nomin.pdf

Leave the first blank empty (unless you're sure what to put there). Put
"Libertarian Party" in the second blank.

7. The application must be notarized. Notaries can be found at banks,
some groceries, copy centers, government offices and other places. Get
out your phone book and start asking (or if you live in Austin, I'm a
notary).

8. Fax this to me at 512-233-0613, then US Mail original (Regular
mail--you can mail next week so long as I receive your fax by 5:00 PM
Monday). Monday is a US Mail holiday.

Call me 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM any day including New Year's Eve or New
Year's Day to discuss this further or for help with the application.

While you are partying like it's 1999, I'll be Libertarian Partying like
the 2006 filing deadline is looming. Call me now.

Cheers!
