The job will entail Ruby on Rails and Java programming. Additionally, experience with the social networks, and web design skills are a plus. We’re also interested in finding the right personality fit, so aptitude and reliability and a eye for detail are more important than anything else. We are a small multi talented group of developers who have begun building a next generation social network. We are looking for a talented developer to help build a production-ready alpha of the site. The gig would start with a 4-6 month contract and a view towards full time employment, if desired.

We’re looking for someone to handle the technical development of this site from start to finish.

- back-end work using RoR to deploy community features,

- experienced as a webmaster (no hardware operations skills needed – just server setup and admin).

- strong HTML, Javascript and CSS experience (but no need to have design skills).

- strong ability to self-manage and to jump into a working project mid-stream a must.

- experience using svn & capistrano

- experience using mongrel_clusters

- US-based.
