Link Up is a professional development programme for deaf and disabled creative people in London. This event will bring together artists and arts professionals across the arts including theatre, visual arts, television and creative writing:
• Yinka Shonibare, International visual artist, nominated for the Turner Prize in 2004, selected artist for Trafalgar Square Fourth Plinth Commission.
• Jeff Banks, Director and Chief Executive of Theatre Resource, one of the largest disabled-led arts organisations in the UK specialising in disability arts and social inclusion. He also continues to work creatively as a theatre director.
• Vidar Hjardeng, is a journalist by trade with over 20 years experience as a television producer. Currently Political Producer and Diversity Advisor for ITV. Hjardeng is also an experienced mentor for the Link Up programme.
These and other speakers will deliver practical advice and workshops on how to find your first job and get it, how to keep your practice going and how to move up the career ladder.
This event is open to deaf and disabled people who live or work in London.
