Performance at Baltimore's American Visionary Art Museum July 10

On July 10, I will be performing improvised experimental music on bass cello at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD (http://www. avam. org ; http://www. avam. org/stuff/inmuseum. html ; http://en. wikipedia. org/wiki/American_Visionary_Art_Museum). The Museum is located at 800 Key Highway, Baltimore MD, at the base of historic Federal Hill, a 2-minute walk from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
Directions are posted at: http://www. avam. org/stuff/getthere. html.

The performance will include Logan Mitchell, Sr., and Hal Schmulowitz on keyboard synthesizers and David Vosh on non-keyboard mini-modular synthesizers.

The performance is scheduled to begin sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 PM (depending on the weather and any need to move instruments under cover) and to end at approximately 8:45. The performance is in support of the Museum's free outdoor showing of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", which is scheduled to begin at 9 PM (in the event of rain, the movie will be screened in the Jim Rouse Visionary Center).
The screening is part of the Museum's "Flicks from the Hill" series on Thursday evenings (http://www. avam. org/cgi-bin/Events. cgi) (added bonus: the Museum is open & offering free admission between 5 and 9 pm on Flick nights -- ordinarily, admission is $12 for adults and $8 for children/students/seniors).

For those unfamiliar with the term “visionary art”, the Museum offers the following:

Like love, you know it when you see it. . . . "Visionary art as defined for the purposes of the American Visionary Art Museum refers to art produced by self-taught individuals, usually without formal training, whose works arise from an innate personal vision that revels foremost in the creative act itself." In short, visionary art begins by listening to the inner voices of the soul, and often may not even be thought of as 'art' by its creator.
