new season captioned performances at the Young Vic

You might like to know about the captioned performances we have coming up at the theatre in the next few months:

Fragments Weds 10 September 7.30pm

The Young Vic / Theatre des Bouffes du Nord co-production of Samuel Beckett short plays returns after a sell-out run in 2007. Directed by Peter Brook, the cast includes Kathryn Hunter, Marcello Magni, and Khalifa Natour. The Sunday Telegraph wrote, of last year’s run ‘Bare, beady-eyed, and unflinchingly funny, this is Beckett as it should be done.’ In the Main House.

The Brothers Size Fri 17 October 7.45pm

Tarell Alvin McCraney’s hit returns to the Maria. The play was nominated for an Olivier award last year and returns with a new cast to our Maria theatre.

In the Red and Brown Water Sat 18 October 2.30pm

McCraney is ‘the explosive new talent’* who wrote The Brothers Size. This is from the same trilogy of plays and tells the story of Oya, who never feels so right as when she’s burning up the track. As a girl she must choose between her dream and caring for her mother. As a woman, she’s torn between the man she lives with and the man she can’t live without. In the Main House.

For more information see www.amazonia-london.com

Remember – there’s a discount of £5 off the top price ticket for each show and if you want to bring a companion they can come for free. Let the box office know when booking that you’re wanting to use the captioning service and we’ll make sure seats are reserved with a good view of the captioning box. We welcome assistance dogs but do ask that you leave them with our front of house staff during the performance. We also have a lively bar where you can buy wines, beers, cocktails, coffee and snacks and meals.

I look forward to meeting you at some of these performances!
