I'll be there. I suggest a place that can support a large group and lots of simple "sharable" plates. Momomo (Japanese Food) would be a good choice. It's just at the top of Kapahulu by the highwa exit.
Ryan, thanks for putting this together. Just be up front, this dinner isn't about "me", but about the community. Maybe we could change the title to reflect that. I want to meet you all and understand what YOU are thinking.
I was chatting with Ryan and we came up with a good alternative that is a taste of old Hawaii and centrally located for the drive back to the North Shore (Jeremiah). It's called Highway Inn in Waipahu: http://www.hawaiiweblog.com/2007/09/09/happy-birthday-highway-inn.
I'm game. It'll be an adventure!
Highway Inn it is! Most Hawaiian restaurants are tiny, but Highway Inn has a few more tables than most and also does catering, so I'm sure they'll be able to feed a bunch of hungry geeks.
OK Now I am frustrated. I did not get any invites, and i cannot find it by searching and it does not show up in My Friends; events, which i get in RSS. So I am inviting myself. :-)
OK - one of those days - I am editing this original comment; looks iffy for us to be there as we've had some things jump in unexpected from the client pipeline...
You guys have this set to restricted or something as the only option I have is to watch, not to attend. No wonder I can't see it! But still, Ryan and Burt, I thought we were friends???
I closed the guestlist yesterday just to stabilize the attendee count. I've reopened it, but if anyone still wants to join us, it might be a good idea to to contact me (as Rox has now done). I'm not sure why the event isn't coming up in searches or contacts' events. It is marked as "Public." I've sent a note to Upcoming.
And of course we're friends! We've been Tweeting about this since March 24. Shane for one RSVP'd right away. Is Shane your friend, too? :P
