Don't be shy if you're straight — the point is to show unity and support equal rights for the LGBT community. We’re going to be a family friendly group, so we encourage the whole family, including children, to join us. Having families and children in the parade counters the notion that supporting gay rights is somehow anti-family!
As one woman who already signed up said: I'm a 62 year old straight female for Obama. Bottom line: we have to get as many people voting for Obama as possible. I frankly do not give a damn about who they sleep with as long as it isn't Bush or Cheney!
