Friday Fun
Better autocomplete, internationalization fixes, and our first screencast!Autocomplete++
We've been doing some tweaking on the autocomplete forms on our new add event forms. You can now search for any combination of venue, street address and city when trying to find what venue you want (don't worry about dupes, we'll be merging venues and no data will be lost). We've also tweaked the metro autocomplete when adding new venues so that you can type only part of the metro name (say, Alberquerque...) or the metro short code.
This (like more frequent blog posting :) is something new we're trying. Check out our first feature screencast:

Internationalization
We've been having some problems the past month with the UTF-8 character encoding not working quite like it should. We've finally nailed the culprit, so future international characters should work now and we'll be working on getting the older metros, venues, and events fixed.
As part of this fixing, we've also modified our Email, RSS and iCal to output UTF-8 instead of entity-encoded characters when possible. So, feel free to ǧø ĉȑȧẓẙ with those heavy metal umlauts! (Special thanks to Jan for his persistence. :)

;o)
Also when re-editing an event would be nice to have the HTML tags still in place.
Would be quite an important thing.
Thx,
matsch
However, the email (I assume you're referring to invites) definitely won't look the same, because we don't send HTML email (yet). Thanks for reporting the probs.
