Thanks for the Suggestion Part 1 - Email everyone watching/attending your event

It's been a while since we blogged about anything new at Upcoming. But it's not for lack of stuff to talk about, we've just been a little busy tuning up our robots. We're always happy to hear from you, so this week I'm going to focus on some features we've recently added in response to the suggestions we get everyday on our Suggestion Board. I'd like to start with one of my personal favorites, which enables the event creator to send a note to everyone who is watching or attending the event.

A Year in Photos

Call us nostalgic. We like looking back at what you've been up to over the last year, since we added the capability to tag Flickr photos with a special Upcoming tag. You've been to so many good parties, festivals, and concerts that are worth remembering. Want to take a look for yourself?

Upcoming Integrated in Yahoo! Search

We've had a busy couple of months recently. With our noses to the grindstone, first we streamlined our search results, making it even easier to find local events on Upcoming. Then we refined Yahoo! Search with our local events, featuring your favorites on Upcoming nationwide:

More Than A Party

People use Upcoming to organize all kinds of parties. Last night, a bunch of Upcomers orbited the London Underground in protest. They were condemning an injunction by BAA that seeks to ban people from traveling on the Underground's Piccadilly line, on mainline trains, and on motorways while the Camp for Climate Action takes place at Heathrow Airport from August 14 through 21. Though BAA insists the ruling is for the "safety of passengers," environmental campaigners claim this is a case of "corporate bullying designed to shut down peaceful protest."
Yesterday's News

What's happening on Upcoming? In Denmark, we watched you roaming the muddy fields of the Roskilde Festival; and in Los Angeles, the Flight of the Conchords sang you their folk songs of comedy. So many of you stuck around for a MOO's Hot Summer Party in London, while we here in the SF Bay Area traveled far and wide to witness the blazes of the Fire Arts Festival.
