No November MeetUp, but we will be meeting for our final MeetUp of 2009 on Wed. Dec. 2, 7 PM.

This month we are going to have Jennifer Lindsay of the A-list on BlogTalkRadio as a guest speaker. On The A-List, Jennifer interviews social media and journalism influencers and thought leaders about what they do, how they got there and the passions that fuel their journey. Jennifer will kick off our monthly informal discussion about online community strategies and tools.

Bring your ideas, questions, and topics of interest. We'll have time for informal networking before and after so you have a chance to chat more with fellow online community enthusiasts.

We will also be using the #ocrsf hashtag for live chat & streaming this via Justin.tv.

Jennifer Lindsay's Bio:

Jennifer is a social media strategist, speaker and new media pioneer, who spearheads a variety of social media functions and programs for her clients - helping them achieve maximum benefit from their social media investment. An Emmy-nominated media veteran who has worked for the "Big Three" TV networks, she earned her Masters from Columbia School of Journalism and Bachelors from Cal Berkeley.

Jennifer currently lives in in the San FranciscoBay area where she has co-founded ResumeMastery.com, a resume-writing company which partners with small to mid-size recruiting firms and consults with individuals.

Through her own consultancy, Jennifer provides strategic counsel on social media to organizations of all kinds. Jennifer is also a prominent speaker at conferences and events, as well as at organizational and educational gatherings, affirming her personal commitment to empower through knowledge.

Jennifer's hobbies include acting, singing, dancing, surfing, beading & wirework, watching just about any sport with her lovely English writer/copyeditor/sports-journalist husband, and generally being a ham - which comes as no surprise to those who know her.

Learn and play with empowering technologies. A wonderfull week of camping gaining and sharing knowledge in Open software, Openhardware and Open content.

We're offering a camp site (with an indoor area), power, a solid internet feed, lots of wifi, electricity and, with your helping hands, basic breakfast, meals and barbecues. Depending on the number of groups and logistics we'll also help to make sure there are additional large tents, chairs and tables. From thereon - it is entirely up to you to make things interesting.

The Wifisoft Foundation organizes Open Community Camp 2010. A week of camping, hacking and social gatherings in the Netherlands - roughly between Amsterdam and the Hague, near Schiphol aiport and the town of Leiden at an easily reached outdoor site.

Museums and the Web is an annual conference exploring the social, cultural, design, technological, economic, and organizational issues of culture, science and heritage on-line. Taking an international perspective, MW reviews and analyzes the issues and impacts of networked cultural, natural and scientific heritage.

Our community has been meeting since 1997, imagining, tracking, analyzing, and influencing the role museums play on the Web.
