Jul 26, 2008: Dorkbot SoCal at Machine Project

Dorkbot SoCal 30 - Gentner, Kuno, Doar

Dorkbot SoCal is a monthly meeting of artists (sound/image/movement/whatever), designers, engineers, students and other interested parties from the Los Angeles / Southern California area who are involved in the creation of electronic art (in the broadest sense of the term.)

http://dorkbot.org/dorkbotsocal/

Steven Gentner - will show a robot project built using RoboRealm, a powerful free computer vision based application for use in machine vision, image analysis, and image processing systems.

http://www.roborealm.com/

Gil Kuno - whose sonic artwork displace natural activity from its context, revealing an otherwise hidden level of metaphorical absurdity within the ordinary patterns present before our eyes.

http://www.unsound.com/

Brett Doar - a "paratechnologist" who creates "idiosyncra tic electro-mechanical creatures out of inappropriate materials."
