    <title>Aug 13, 2009: 2009 Bi Health Summit at Hilton Chicago</title>
    <description><![CDATA[<b>About the Bi Health Summit:</b> The Bisexual Health Summit is a grassroots, community-oriented meeting designed for community health workers, activists, and other interested community members. The purpose is to come together and share knowledge about health issues affecting bisexuals and men and women who have multi-gendered sexuality, and to build health advocacy skills among bisexual people and our allies. <br /><br />
Join fellow advocates, professionals, activists, and concerned people from across the US and beyond for an update on the field of bisexual health with an emphasis on knowledge-sharing, movement-building, and strategizing about future directions in bisexual health.<br /><br />
<b>Programming:</b> The Bi Health Summit is being held in conjunction with the <a rel="nofollow" HREF="http://www.2009lgbtihealth.org/content/page/2009-national-lgbti-health-summit">2009 National LGBTI Health Summit</a>, and will be both a concentrated, one-day event on August 14th, and a broader presence within the larger conference.<br /><br />
Topics will include, but not be limited, to the following areas: <br /><br />
• Clinical care – who serves the bisexual community and how is it best served?<br />
• Community initiatives – what are the latest strategies?<br />
• Research – what have we learned and what do we still need to explore?<br />
• Education and training – what models are being used and are they working?<br />
• Publications – learn the latest about resources on this topic<br />
• Advocacy and policy work – what next steps should the movement for bisexual health take?<br /><br />
<b>Leadership: </b>The co-chairs are Julie Ebin (Fenway Community Health, Boston, MA), Luigi Ferrer (VP <a rel="nofollow" HREF="http://www.binetusa.org">BiNet USA</a>, Miami, FL), and Jennifer Bonardi (Boston, MA). Collective members include Stewart Landers (Boston, MA) and Ed Negron (Chicago, IL).<br />

    <title>Feb  3, 2010: 2010 Creating Change Conference at Sheraton Dallas North Hotel</title>
    <description><![CDATA[<b>Creating Change</b>, the <a rel="nofollow" HREF="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=15376050390">22nd National Conference on LGBT Equality</a> is the annual National Grassroots Organizing and Skills Building Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Conference sponsored by the <a rel="nofollow" HREF="http://www.thetaskforce.org/">National Gay and Lesbian Task Force</a>.<br /><br />
Each year the conference is held in a different region of the United States, attracting at least 2,000 to 3,000 attendees from all over the country and is considered a unique environment where activists and leaders come together from diverse places and backgrounds to create a unique community that is both strengthening and inspiring to the participants.  Since 1988, Creating Change has been the opportunity for thousands of committed people to develop and hone their skills, celebrate victories, build community, and to be inspired by visionaries of our LGBT movement and other movements for justice and equality.<br /><br />
The primary goal of the Creating Change Conference is to build political power from the ground up to secure our overarching goal of full equality, social justice and dignity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the United States.  Over the five days of the Creating Change Conference the conference program presents a dozen day-long institutes, sophisticated trainings in the Academy for Leadership and Action, approximately 130 workshops and caucus sessions, keynote plenary sessions, film screenings, meetings, receptions, social events, and a multitude of opportunities for attendees to meet and learn from each other.<br /><br />

The Plenary sessions provide a common meeting ground for the conference to explore current issues in the LGBT community and our Community will be tabling as well as giving a variety of presentations. <br /><br />
Please join us as we meet to discuss issues of importance to us as a Community, interact and introduce ourselves to members of the greater LGBT Community and all gather to work together on issues of importance to us as a whole.<br /><br />

    <title>Aug  8, 2009: Bronx Pride 2009 at Barretto Point Park</title>
    <description><![CDATA[<b>Bronx Pride 2009 Postponed Due to Weather Forecast</b><br /><br />
Due to the National Weather Bureau’s weather predictions, Bronx Pride 2009 has been postponed to early August.  Our headline performer Crystal Waters, as well as other special guests, will still be joining us<br />

Bronx Pride, is held annually at Barretto Point Park at the intersection of Tiffany Street and Viele Avenue.  For your convenience, their is free shuttle-bus service from the Number 6 Train Hunts Point Station.  <br /><br />
It features a wide array of entertainment, food, contests, community groups and vendors.  In previous years the Pride Festival has attracted over 1,500 community supporters. <br /><br />
Bronx Pride is hosted by the Bronx Community Pride Center in association with several major companies and foundations along with a plethora of vendors and service organizations catering to the LGBT community of the Bronx.  <br /><br />

    <description><![CDATA[The group is a facilitated discussion group for men, women, genderqueer, transgender, and not-quite-sure people, as well as people who fall on different places along the monogamous to polyamorous dimension, as long as you inhabit the space between totally straight and totally gay somewhere <i>(i.e., bisexual, bi-curious, omnisexual, pansexual, questioning, queer, fluid, “I don’t label myself,” heteroflexible, homoflexible, SGL, and bi-friendly)</i>. <br /><br />
People who wish to understand their bisexual loved ones are also welcome. <br /><br />
The group meets at The LOFT, the LGBTQ safe space in White Plains, Westchester, New York, at 7:30 PM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month. <br /><br />
Even if you can&#39;t always make it to the group meetings in person, join us on line, ask questions, chat, make some <i>&quot;net-friends&quot;</i> and keep up with what is happening in the Westchester and surrounding bisexual community.<br />
