The "Tour From Afar" will be Legendary Swedish death metal horde Hypocrisy's first tour for their highly anticipated new record, which is also their first release since 2005's Virus. Black Friday, Jimi Hendrix's Birthday, and Stereo Freakout's debut CD release party!

SFO plays a blend of hard rock and funk with splashes of jazz, metal, ska, and slap guitar. Big influences are Primus, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Alice in Chains, Faith No More, the Police, and King Crimson, just to name a few. Songs range from funky and danceable one track to heavy, rocking and driving the next. Songs like "The Way" blend a rocking intro with heavy slap-bass coupled by a lyrical vocal flow, while "Black & Blue" captures a laid-back leisurely groove with a heavy and melodic chorus. "Break Me", one of SFO's heaviest numbers, spotlights the incredible and almost unbelievable finger prowess of Mike Sopko, allowing him live to traverse an intense musical journey that sets the audience's heart racing and is never the same twice. Bassist Ethan Rider's driving funk and jazzy lines, "Infamous" Dave Jones pounding and original rhythms, and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Jym Murry's slap-guitar antics and interesting vocal stylings make this band one of the newest Bay Area sensations and acts not to be missed! Also appearing tonight will be Sam Johnson from local bands Paradise and Handsome Rovers to make this show extra memorable...

Since winning the Gorilla Productions Battle of the Bands Finals in June 2009, the Cleveland-based company is headlining SFO for this 10 band, all-ages showcase. Nuck Fu, the funky/rockin' highschoolers from Berkeley co-headline the night, and this will apparently be their last and farewell show as "Nuck Fu"... Hope to see everyone out for this incredible gathering of local talent!

Enjoy the most wonderful time of the year with the award-winning Santa Experience, an exciting, interactive visit with Santa at Sherway Gardens (Hwy 427 & the QEW) weekdays and Saturdays from Monday, November 16 until Thursday, December 24. Registration will be accepted in person only at the Holiday Information Desk near the entrance to Sherway Square starting on November 6. 100% of the $5 per child ticket price goes to Sleeping Children Around the World. Santa will lead his little guests in an entertaining, interactive play session that includes singalongs, dancing and story reading – ending with a special moment for each child to share their wishes with Santa and pose for an informal picture taken by mom or dad. Sessions are approximately 30 minutes long, and parents are encouraged to join in the fun.

With these scheduled sessions and pre-registration, children will not have to wait in long line-ups to visit with Santa. Each child must be registered, newborns included, and the number of participants for each session is limited to a maximum of 40 children, groups of up to 10 children can be accommodated in November only.

100% of the $5 per child ticket price goes to Sleeping Children Around the World – a locally based charity that provides bed kits for needy children in developing countries. Each bedkit consists of a mat or mattress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net (if applicable), clothes outfit, towel and school supplies. For each new, unwrapped toy donation made during the Santa Experience sessions before December 18, you will receive a ballot for a chance to win a special home visit from Santa on Tuesday, December 22. The draw will be on December 18. All toys will be donated to Toy Mountain for distribution by The Salvation Army to needy children.

With this valuable skill, project managers and planners will have improved control of their projects as they will be able to identify and build in risk responses, understand the full impact of scope changes on their projects, and identify trends early in the project life cycle.

Our instructors are seasoned project scheduling professionals, who have experience in a wide variety of industries and with a number of scheduling software packages. Examples used include construction, IT, and telecommunications. In addition to scheduling theory, practitioners’ tips and tricks will be demonstrated.

This is a hands-on course, in which participants will use a “live” project to create a schedule, update it, manage it and report on its performance. Participants will bring their own laptops already loaded with their own scheduling software to create and update a schedule. Some of the subsequent exercises use files supplied by the instructor.

This professional level course is appropriate for those seeking to obtain their professional credential in planning and scheduling, such as PMI-SP® (PMI’s Scheduling Professional) or AACE PSP (AACE International’s Planning & Scheduling Professional) credentials.

PREREQUISITE

University degree, or a technology or business diploma. Minimum of two years experience in a project environment. An introductory course in project management such as PM Essentials is advisable. It is expected that you have taken an introductory course in scheduling software or have hands-on experience with Microsoft Project, such as Microsoft Project Essentials, or Primavera, or another similar scheduling software tool.

You will receive a course binder containing a copy of the presentation slides. You will need your laptop with a scheduling software package already installed (Primavera, Microsoft Project, SureTrak, or similar).

Located in Sherway Square, the station will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cookies are $4 each or three for $10. Over the past 18 years, families have helped support their community health centre while using creative and innovative ideas to decorate and personalize their cookies. “More than 3,000 cookies are decorated each year,” states Carol MacKay, coordinator of this year’s Volunteers of Trillium Health Centre Gingerbread Cookie Factory. “People of all ages come to decorate the gingerbread cookies every year at Sherway Gardens. The monies raised by this year’s Volunteers of Trillium Health Centre Gingerbread Cookie Factory will support the campaign to raise funds for much needed equipment in Trillium’s birthing suites, which will help to enhance care for moms and their new babies.
