Cash prizes will be awarded for first ($400 per team and trophies for each team member), second ($300 per team), third ($200 per team) and fourth place winners ($100 per team). Players purchasing the $100 per team/$35 individual contest package will be given a shot at a skins pot, raffle prizes, men's and women's straightest drive, longest drive, and closest to the pin contests, putting contest and move-up hole. Players may enter the Myers AUTOWORLD and Ed Martin Automotive hole-in-one contest to win a 2009 GM car, $250 American Express card or Apple IPod.

Classic proceeds will benefit local programs of the United Way of Madison County and the Chamber of Commerce for Anderson & Madison County. Gold, Silver and Bronze and Hole/Tee sponsorship levels of $1,000, $500, $250 and $100 are still available. The $400 per team or $100 per person registration includes breakfast, lunch, beverages, green fees, range balls and cart.

Our first featured band to play for the 2009 concert series is Protocol, based out of
Indianapolis. Protocol is the combined talents of six dedicated and seasoned musicians who have a passion for the “real deal” in soul, R & B and Motown.
Protocol has performed at the Slippery Noodle and ArtsGarden in Indianapolis as well as Hoosier Park. The band gave a gushed over performance in Falls Park as part of our 2008 Music in the Park series.

So, shake out your blanket, and grab the lawn chairs off the front porch for an evening of eclectic renditions of some great 60’s and 70’s music. Don’t forget the kids!

The event committee is seeking a variety of musical performers for the 2009 Rock the District lineup. Bands from all genres of music are encouraged to participate. Rock the District is a family-friendly event and bands and/or musical groups should have musical content appropriate for the general public. Bands with explicit lyrics will not be accepted. Performance times range from 12 p.m.- 7 p.m. on the day of the event. Applications to participate can be found on the Carmel Arts & Design District website at www.CarmelArtsandDesign.com/RocktheDistrict. As the City of Carmel is a non-profit entity, only groups willing to perform gratis can be accommodated.

Deadline for submission of application materials is Friday, May 1st.

Performers will be chosen by committee review. Final entertainment line-up is at the discretion of the event committee. Submitting materials does not guarantee a spot in the Rock the District line-up.

This is a great opportunity for bands to showcase their talents in front of a large audience. Rock the District will be heavily promoted through various media and provides a fun and festive environment for fans of all ages.

Last year’s event attracted more than 12,000 people from throughout the state of Indiana to the Arts & Design District. The highly anticipated third annual Rock the District event is expected to draw even larger crowds as the already popular venue will have an expanded festival sales footprint including additional space for food vendors and three stages of music throughout the day.

There are various levels of sponsorship to accommodate many types of businesses wanting to be involved with the 2009 Rock the District event. Sponsorship levels start at a number of $150 “Front Row” sponsorships with Title and Presenting sponsorships available as well. Every sponsor receives space at the event to sell products or promote their business.

Those businesses wanting to be a part of the district-wide sidewalk sale are encouraged to take advantage of the $150 “Front Row” sponsorship level with benefits including table space the day of the event as well as acknowledgements on the Carmel Arts & Design District “Rock the District” website and day-of-the-event signage (if received by sponsorship deadline of June 12, 2009). Forms and registration for the “Front Row” sponsorship can be downloaded at www.carmelartsanddesign.com/rockthedistrict. Forms and registration for Front Row sponsors wishing to be part of the sidewalk sale are due by June 12, 2009.
