Was ist ein BarCamp?

Ein BarCamp ist eine Ad-hoc-Nicht-Konferenz (Unconference), die zum ersten Mal 2005 in San Francisco und im deutschen Sprachraum zum ersten Mal im September 2006 in Wien stattfand.

Barcamps sind aus dem Bedüfnis heraus entstanden, dass sich Menschen in einer offenen Umgebung austauschen und voneinander lernen können. Es ist eine intensive Veranstaltung mit Diskussionen, Präsentationen, und Interaktion der Teilnehmer untereinander.

Jeder, der etwas beizutragen hat oder etwas lernen will, ist willkommen und herzlich eingeladen mitzumachen.

Für den Fall, dass du mitmachst, stell dich darauf ein, dich mit anderen Barcampern auszutauschen.
Wenn du gehst, sei bereit, deine Erfahrungen mit dem Rest der Welt zu teilen.

1st Rule: You do talk about Bar Camp.

3rd Rule: If you want to present, you must write your topic and name in a presentation slot.
4th Rule: Only three word intros.

The Freeride Experience brings freeriding, the new sporting challenge off the usual crowded slopes, close to you and you closer to mountain nature. In small groups, split into beginners and advanced skiers, a local guide accompanies you to secret spots and untouched slopes.

We are proud to present the following keynote speakers at the EDem 2008:

* Peter Parycek (Head of the Center for E-Government, Danube University Krems, A)
* Matt Poelmans (Director, Citizenlink, The Hague, NL)

There are a number of E-Democracy applications, ranging from providing information to discussion, deliberation, decision-making and voting, thus encompassing the entire democratic process. The technical devices have become a means to an end, and there are other questions that now need to be raised and answered:

To what extent can E-Democracy support and enrich our democracy?
What and where are the interfaces, what methods can be used to integrate E-participation in present politics public administration processes?

* How can we ensure that the greatest number of people are reached and are able to use the means of participation?
* How can the modern media support political education?
* How can the Internet increase participation in political discussion?
* What are the limitations and the risks of E-Democracy?

The EDem2008 conference presents the opportunity to look into these questions and discuss the answers. During the conference experiences will be collected, examples good and bad practice analysed, the State-of-the-Art and future scenarios will be presented and discussed.

We are looking for contributions on all areas and levels of electronic democracy and participation systems, precedence will be given to those contributions which include national and/or international experiences. Concrete projects can also be submitted, and, if accepted, would be presented as examples of “hands-on” demonstrations of E-Democracy and E-Participation.

Papers and projects can be submitted in English or German, the tracks in German and English language will be held parallel.

We invite individuals from academic and practical backgrounds as well as public administration offices, public bodies, NGOs, education institutions and independent organisations, to submit their contributions.

Cost: EUR 95,- including proceedings

The Proceedings will be published by the OCG (Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft)
In cooperation with the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

Die VIENNALE zeigt in ihrem jährlichen Hauptprogramm eine akzentuierte Auswahl neuer filmischer Arbeiten aus allen Ländern, nationale, zum Teil internationale Premieren, durchwegs Beispiele einer lebendigen Kinematographie von ästhetischem Eigensinn und politischer Aktualität.

Neben der umfangreichen aktuellen Spielfilmproduktion in allen ihren Formen, Genres und Erzählweisen widmet das Festival besondere Aufmerksamkeit dem dokumentarischen Kino, dem internationalen Kurzfilmschaffen sowie experimentellen Werken und Arbeiten aus dem crossover Bereich.

Internationale Resonanz findet die regelmäßig große historische Retrospektive in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Österreichischen Filmmuseum, sowie die vielfältigen Sonderprogramme, Tributes und Hommagen, die im Rahmen des Festivals bedeutenden Persönlichkeiten und Institutionen des internationalen Filmschaffens gewidmet sind.

Im Verlauf des Festivals wird der FIPRESCI-Preis der Internationalen Filmkritikervereinigung vergeben, ebenso der hochdotierte Wiener Filmpreis der Stadt Wien, sowie der Preis der STANDARD-Publikumsjury.

Eine Reihe von Galavorführungen, Special Events und Feste gehört ebenso zum lebendigen und vielfältigen Geschehen des Festivals wie Diskussionen, Publikumsgespräche und Begegnungen zwischen internationalen Gästen und Besuchern.

So hat sich die VIENNALE im Laufe der letzten Jahre zu einem Festival der besonderen Art im internationalen Filmgeschehen entwickelt. Ein Festival, das in urbaner Atmosphäre im herbstlichen Wien ein akzentuiertes Programm präsentiert, ein spannendes Nebeneinander von neuesten internationalen Entwicklungen und historischen Bezügen, ein Festival der Informationen, der Überraschungen und der Entdeckungen. Und vor allem: ein Festival der Filme.

Das drehbuchFORUM engagiert sich seit Februar 2006 mit einem eigenen Programm im Bereich der Stoffentwicklung. In Anlehnung an das u.a. in Skandinavien erfolgreich praktizierte Muster der begleitenden AutorInnenförderung wurde mit scriptLAB ein Modell entworfen, das professionelle Kräfte bündelt, Innovation unterstützt, kostengünstig funktioniert und als permanentes Angebot gleichzeitig DrehbuchautorInnen und ProduzentInnen zugute kommt.

Ziel ist es, DrehbuchautorInnen in der Frühphase der Stoffentwicklung zu unterstützen, um das Angebot an qualitativ hochwertigen Treatments für die Produzenten zu erhöhen und damit den heimischen Markt zu beleben.

scriptLAB setzt also dort ein, wo DrehbuchautorInnen üblicherweise auf sich alleine gestellt und auf eigenes Risiko zu arbeiten gezwungen sind und unterstützt sie bis zu dem Punkt, da der Stoff weit genug gediehen ist, um das Engagement eines Produzenten zu gewinnen und/oder eine Drehbuchförderung zu beantragen.

scriptLAB versteht sich nicht zuletzt als Starthilfe für Kinospielfilmprojekte, die in inhaltlicher, dramaturgischer und/oder formaler Hinsicht ungewöhnliche Ansätze verfolgen und bietet also eine besondere Chance für die Entwicklung von schwierigen Stoffen, die vorerst unabhängig von Förderinstitutionen, Produzenten und kommerziellen Erwartungen entwickelt werden sollen. In diesem Sinne ist scriptLAB auch als Labor zu verstehen, als Versuchs- und Experimentierraum, in dem DrehbuchautorInnen ohne Druck von außen ihre Treatments erarbeiten können.

Gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen Dominik Nostitz präsentiert er den Sampler „Projekt 8“: 19 Bands haben dafür je ein „8er“-Jahr zwischen 1848 und 2018 ausgewählt und dazu ein Musikstück erarbeitet, etwa: Mieze Medusa & Tenderboy, Christoph & Lollo, Martin Klein, The Wichita, Norbert Trummer etc..

Daniel (tb) und Leo Riegler (electronics) arbeiten seit Jahren in verschiedenen Projekten und Bands zusammen. Die Kommunikation funktioniert blind, die Lust immer wieder Neues zu probieren, steigt mit jeder Kooperation. Erst seit der JazzWerkstatt Wien 2008 treten sie nun auch als Duo auf und lassen ihre Dialoge durch nichts und niemanden stören.

Das Electric Duo Clemens Salesny (Sax) und Peter Rom (Git.) ist eine verkleinerte Ausgabe der "Clemens Salesny Electric Band". Diese hat im April 2008 ihre fulminante "Live at the Jazzwerkstatt 2007"-CD präsentiert. Hier wie da funktioniert diese Band rein
Improvisatorisch: Ausgangspunkt sind Grooves und kurze Hooklines entlang denen dann ausladend und mit dem nötigen Anteil an "electric" soliert wird.

Das Literatur- und Musikperformanceduo Sergej Mohntau gründete sich 1999 und verknüpft seither in abwechselnden Projekten und Performances Musik, Sound und Sprachkunst mit bildnerischen und theatralischen Elementen zu einer eigenständigen Form des literarisch-musikalischen Aktionismus. Sergej Mohntau präsentieren Stücke aus ihrer aktuellen CD palindromsongs. Palindrome sind Texte, die vorwärts wie rückwärts gelesen den selben Sinn ergeben. Die palindromsongs sind akustische Palindrome die vorwärts und rückwärts gehört werden können. Der gesungene und gesprochene Text bleibt dabei gleich.
