The Ivory-billed woodpecker has long been considered the Holy Grail by diehard birders who refused to believe it went extinct over sixty years ago. So when scientists announced that the bird had been found in the swamps of eastern Arkansas, it was celebrated around the world as the rediscovery of a lifetime. Following the largest recovery effort ever undertaken for a lost species, and despite millions of dollars in funding, Ivory-bills remain as elusive as ever. What can explain the mysterious absence of evidence while sightings by expert birders persist? Ghost Bird brings the Ivory-bill’s blurry rediscovery into focus, revealing our uneasy relationship with nature and the increasing uncertainty of our place within it.

Scott Crocker is a feature and documentary film director and producer whose award-winning films have screened at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the De Young Museum in San Francisco, and at film festivals and exhibitions nationally and internationally. Under Small Change Productions Scott has developed and directed films concerned with memory, identity and the narrative impulse. His documentary Boneshop of the Heart, on outsider artists from the South, received honors from both the American Anthropological Association, and the American Folklore Society.

Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts (HCA) Dance Theatre Company makes its Toronto debut with Displacement, a vibrant multi-media performance created by three internationally acclaimed Canadian artists.

Choreographer/dancer Robert Glumbek, visual artist Vessna Perunovich and composer Christos Hatzis – all immigrants themselves – explore the immigrant experience through contemporary dance, music, visual art and film.

Displacement brings together the rich experiences of these diverse creators to show us a reflection of ourselves as Canadians as they collaboratively explore their unique perspectives on the immigrant dynamic, examining personal transitions and conflicting histories.

With choreography by Glumbek, music by Hatzis and film and art installations by Perunovich, Displacement features seven uniquely talented dancers – Robert Glumbek, Johanna Bergfeldt, Tyler Gledhill, Ryan Lee, Rena Narumi, Anisa Tajpar and Brendan Wyatt – who perform this innovative and breathtaking work that features a live performance by the world-renowned Penderecki String Quartet.

When it made its world premiere in Hamilton in 2007, the Hamilton Spectator raved:

behind the Veil portrays the struggle between women of tradition and women who seek freedom of expression, as it lifts the veil off ancestral traditions. We follow the journey of the central character Alameh, a free-spirited woman, as she travels across the boundaries of time and many distinct eras, from the ancient times of the Pharaohs to the present day.

behind the Veil is a feast for both the eyes and ears as over 20 artists with diverse cultural backgrounds perform in this multidisciplinary work. The Rockettes are a precision dance company, whose home is the Radio City Music Hall located in New York City. The Rockettes are responsible for bringing fans to their shows for more than 50 years. The Rockettes were originally comprised of 16 women and now the popular kick line has 36 members. They are known for their festive and showy holiday costumes. Little girls dream of being a Rockette when they grow up. They also have a special group that tours around the country at holiday time and every show is a total sellout. The girls range in height from 5'6" to 5'10 1/2" and the choreographer arranges them from the tall girls in the middle to the shorter girls on the end of the kick line.

The Radio City Christmas Music Spectacular which is held at Radio City Music Hall and recorded for television is the most popular television show annually in the United States. This show is usually shown at Thanksgiving, the start of the Christmas season. The Rockettes proudly bring in 2.1 million fans annually for their performances. The Rockettes are also famous for literally "kicking off" product lines for companies like McDonalds, Honda, and Oldsmobile. They have also been guests at the Super Bowl and George Bush's inauguration in 2001. They tend to bring smiles to all their fans faces as they are truly breathtaking to watch.

A few historical facts about the Rockettes are that the group was initiated by a man named Russell Market in 1925 in St. Louis Missouri. They were first called the Missouri Rockets. In 1927, Mr. Samuel Roxy Rothafel was so impressed with them and he brought them to New York City to perform. Apparently, they took over the Zigfield Follies when they came to New York. Another interesting tidbit is that they were originally called the Roxyettes because they performed in Mr. Rothafel's Roxy Theater. During World War II, they brightened up the holidays for servicemen by being a part of the USO tours. Sadly, blacks were not allowed into the dance line until 1987. The only justification for this meaningless policy was that black dancers would distract from the similar look of the dance group. The oldest living member of the original Rockettes is now 95 and lives in Toronto, Canda.

The Rockettes are a precision dance company, whose home is the Radio City Music Hall located in New York City. The Rockettes are responsible for bringing fans to their shows for more than 50 years. The Rockettes were originally comprised of 16 women and now the popular kick line has 36 members. They are known for their festive and showy holiday costumes. The Rockettes are also famous for literally "kicking off" product lines for companies like McDonalds, Honda, and Oldsmobile. They have also been guests at the Super Bowl and George Bush's inauguration in 2001. They tend to bring smiles to all their fans faces as they are truly breathtaking to watch.

A few historical facts about the Rockettes are that the group was initiated by a man named Russell Market in 1925 in St. Louis Missouri. They were first called the Missouri Rockets. In 1927, Mr. Samuel Roxy Rothafel was so impressed with them and he brought them to New York City to perform. Apparently, they took over the Zigfield Follies when they came to New York. Another interesting tidbit is that they were originally called the Roxyettes because they performed in Mr. Rothafel's Roxy Theater. During World War II, they brightened up the holidays for servicemen by being a part of the USO tours. Sadly, blacks were not allowed into the dance line until 1987. The only justification for this meaningless policy was that black dancers would distract from the similar look of the dance group. The oldest living member of the original Rockettes is now 95 and lives in Toronto, Canda.

You will learn and practice Microsoft Project at your own dedicated computer. The scheduling techniques are learned through a series of progressive exercises which simulate a real project.
