The Downtown Fort Myers Farmers' Market, a year-round market, is open every Thursday November through April from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm and May through October from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm in Centennial Park under the US 41 Caloosahatchee Bridge at the corner of Heitman and First Streets. The Fort Myers Market is a "green market" where consumers may purchase fruits, flowers, vegetables, native plants, palms, flowering plants, baked goods, local seafood, and ethnic specialities. The "green market" sells commodites that are eaten or grown. NEW Licensing Requirements Starting January 1, 2010

In accordance with Florida legislation passed earlier this year, the license exemption (FS494.006) for all Loan Originators employed by Florida licensed Lenders and Correspondent Lenders will be going away on January 1, 2010. What this means is that currently unlicensed Loan Originators will need to complete the 24 Hour Mortgage Broker License Course and pass the state exam in order to meet the new requirements beginning January 1, 2010. Loan Originators working without a license will face a $1,000 fine per day.

NOTE: We are expecting large class sizes for our remaining 2009 class schedule so we recommend getting registered as soon as possible.

REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING A FLORIDA CAM LICENSE:

How to Get a Florida CAM License
An applicant for a Florida Community Association Manager (CAM) License must:

a.) be at least 18 years old
b.) hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
NOTE: Florida residency is not required.

The steps outlined below will begin the process to obtain a Florida CAM License. Application approval generally takes 15-60 days.

A Step-By-Step Guide
1. Submit a license application to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. The application processing fee is $228. Call us at 239.344.7510 to receive our LICENSE APPLICATION HANDBOOK with pictures and detailed descriptions to walk you through the application.

2. Complete electronic fingerprints with Pearson Vue for a background check. You can also contact the Pearson Vue customer support center at 1.888.274.2020 (TTY 1.800.274.2617) to register by phone. The fingerprint fee is $57.25.

3. Complete 18 hours of Florida CAM Licensing Education. Fort Myers CAM classes available.

4. Pass the Florida CAM License Exam. It takes approximately 15-60 days from submission of your License Application and Electronic Fingerprints for exam approval.

5. After passing your exam, your CAM license will be mailed to you by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation within 10 business days.
