A small group of innovative artists, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Camille Pissarro and the founders Albert Dubois-Pillet, Odilon Redon, Henri-Édmond Cross, Georges Seurat, Paul Signac, founded the Salon des Indépendants in 1884. In a movement of defiance, these Néo-Impressionist painters, tired from being refused by the juries of the official Salon, decided to create their own Salon - the Salon des Indépendants - with the fundamental principle of “no jury, nor reward”.

One of the objectives of the Passion for Life program is to collect funds for the fight against cancer. The program was founded by Antoine Gaber, impressionist artist painter and cancer researcher in drug development mostly for cancer therapies. In each country where the Passion for Life exhibition has been held, the funds raised have been entirely donated to a charitable organization or a pre-selected, local association. In this upcoming event in November in Paris, Passion for Life will be supporting the Institut Curie. Founded in 1909 based on a conceptual model created by Marie Curie, the Institut Curie now brings together 2000 researchers, doctors and health care professionals, all working with the same aim: to find cures for cancer with speed. As a recognized Foundation with public support since 1921, the Institut Curie aims to make quickly available the most recent advancements in research with a multi-disciplinary approach, whilst bringing the best available treatments to cancer patients.

The Swiss Pavilion - architect Le Corbusier of the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris celebrates its 75 years. For this occasion, it welcomes the exhibition "Le Spectrarium – les fantômes dans la machine", a contemporary art exhibition which explores the relationships between obsession and technology, and transforms this historical monument, the first "living machine" of modern architecture, into a haunted house. The purpose of the exhibition is to show that the Swiss Pavilion unconsciously supports the proliferation of ghosts. The artistic interventions confirm the status of the Swiss Pavilion as a "Matrix of fear". By testing the relationships between art, architecture and society, this dynamic device reconfigures the internal movement and architectural volumes of the Swiss Pavilion and traces the outlines of the strange geography of an interlope society.

We are very fortunate to meet with and receive unique teachings from this exceptional spiritual teacher.
Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab is the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition. His presentation of Buddhism is extraordinarily clear, and he shows the immense enjoyment of leading a pure, simple spiritual life. Gen-la will lead reviews of Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings.
Gen Kelsang Eupamé is the National Spiritual Director of France and the Resident Teacher of the Kadampa Meditation Centre France. He will lead the meditations during this Festival and also the post-festival retreat at KMC France.

Venue: The Festival will be held at the Disney® Village, next to Disneyland® Resort Paris Theme Park. This will be a very special opportunity for families to enjoy the Festival in a different way and for everyone to see beyond the ordinary.

Saturday November 1st, Venerable Geshe Kelsang will grant the empowerment of Prajnaparamita, a special opportunity to make a strong connection with this Buddha and to receive her blessings. This is the first time Venerable Geshe Kelsang will grant this empowerment in the west.
He will then give a four-day commentary to the Great Mother Prajnaparamita practice, which is a powerful method for developing great compassion and for opening the wisdom eye that sees the ultimate nature or emptiness of all phenomena.

We will again have hundreds of startups presenting, a great line up of world class speakers (previous years include French President Sarkozy, Philippe Starck, President Shimon Peres but also many Internet movers and shakers...) and plenty of networking space, with beds, like last year.
