JIN AKINO PHOTO EXHIBITION

"Colors and Shapes throughout the Silk Road History"
The Historical Towns of Uzbekistan Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List

Jin Akino focused on the beautiful colors and shapes nurtured by the long history of Uzbekistan at Samarkand, Shahrisabz, Bukhara, and Khiva. The photographs captured by his own perspective and technique show both magnificence and subtlety of architecture. 45 photographs tell each view at each moment and angle which attracted the photographer from Japan. The exhibition is being held within the framework of the "Beauty Will Save the World" Project of the International Museum of Peace and Solidarity, Samarkand (Uzbekistan).

Profile: Jin Akino http://www.jinakino.com
Japanese professional photographer, based in Tokyo. Born in 1970 and graduated from Tokyo University (B.A. in Economics). For his photography traveled to many Asian countries, especially Silk Road Area, and the United States. His photographs and texts which capture the beauty of nature and architecture have been published in many Japanese magazines. Gives lectures by showing his photographs about Silk Road at Asahi Culture Center in Yokohama and teaches at his photo school in Tokyo. Received awards at the International Photography Competitions 2004-2007. Contributing photographer for Digital Silk Road Project which was founded by UNESCO and the National Institute of Informatics for making digital archives of the great heritage in Silk Road area. Official photographer for the international research project "Accuracy & Aesthetics" by Indiana University (USA). Participant of the "Samarkandiana" project of the International Museum of Peace and Solidarity, Samarkand.
