As the book is only sold in the States we recommend that you buy the PDF version at http://uxreports.com/sell/

Nov 17, 2009: Maine IxDA - Guided Selling: Helping Customers Make Sense of Your Offering at St. Lawrence Arts and Community Center

Have you ever had a situation where you needed to buy something but simply do not know how to make a decision because there's just too many choices?

Similar to a helpful salesperson, guided selling is a process that helps consumers make complex decisions through product education. Wrapped in a software application, it will lead a consumer through a set of questions that assess their values, intended usage and knowledge of a particular category.

Its potential is massive in that the interaction component allows these tools to create authentic conversations between "users" and a trusted adviser, teacher, and consultant all in one.

This talk will explore the concepts, applications and a case study that will show how this idea can manifest into a design. Feel free to ask questions any time during the presentation.

(There will be free snacks. Beverages will be available for discount price from the center. Donation of $5 to the center is suggested.)
