About Me

I am currently the Director for Communications for the Secure World Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the peaceful uses of outer space through the rule of law. Previously, I was a space industry analyst for Bethesda-based Futron Corporation, where I supported the space activities of civil, military, and commercial space organizations. Work included reviewing existing and emerging markets, trend analysis using historical data, characterization of the nation's space architecture, international space activity, potential economic impacts of loss of space services, and space technology policy. Primary clients during this time included the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Commercial Space Transportation (AST), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the National Security Space Office (NSSO).

Prior to my Futron work, I was a defense policy analyst for SAIC supporting headquarters offices in the Department of Defense. Throughout this time, I have been a freelance artist specializing in the subject of human activity in space, past, present, and future.

I earned a degree in political science from the University of Nebraska and obtained a graduate degree in space studies from the University of North Dakota. I also served eight years in the United States Air Force, both as a nuclear cruise missile specialist and a bioenvironmental engineering technician. In 1997, I ran for public office seeking the Omaha City Council District 6 seat.
