It's been more than 30 years since my dad Carlos Montesdeoca, the Montesdeoca behind The Union Restaurant at 10319 Venice Blvd in Culver city, mortgaged his home to buy a little neighborhood Cuban restaurant in 1974 corner of Venice and Motor avenue. (there is a surplus store there now) were my mom Isabel Montesdeoca , brother Ramon Gomez and my aunt Margo Falcon were the cooks. The restaurant was a sizzling success so they moved next door to 10319 Venice Boulevard a year later.
