The stunning Glamour Bar, a 21st-century impression of a 1930s Hollywood movie set, has revived the elegant tradition of sophisticated drinks and after-dinner music in Shanghai.

"Live at the Glamour Bar", M on the Bund's live music season -- now entering its fourth season -- brings in a selection of musicians as eclectic, cosmopolitan and delicious as the menu: "We're out to shake up the music scene in Shanghai, and that means getting Shanghai residents out to see quality performers," says Michelle Garnaut, the restaurateur who founded M on the Bund in 1999.

On evenings when the CD player is in charge, it's cool jazz and warm grooves - from Sarah Vaughn to Art Blakey, from Cuban mambos to French chansons, the Glamour Bar keeps the mood... just right.
