The Finnish Railway Museum is a national special museum, which focuses on preserving and researching the history of Finnish railways. The museum coordinates also the co-operation between all the railway museums in Finland.
The Finnish Railway Museum was founded in 1898. Originally, it was located at various premises of the Helsinki Railway Station. In 1974, the museum was transferred to Hyvinkää to it's current premises at the station and depot area of the former Hanko-Hyvinkää railway line.
