Hemmens Auditorium
45 Symphony Way
Elgin, IL, Illinois 60120
United States
(847) 931-5900

Description:
Constructed of glass and steel beams, the structure is akin to Chicago's McCormick Place, but on a much smaller scale. There are no obstructed views and the acoustics are superb. The space has new mahogany paneling, which adds a sense of intimacy and improves sound quality. The balcony is also comfortable, but due to the wide aisle and railing at the base of the area, some of the stage may not be visible from the corners of the front rows. The balcony also contains the sound booth and spotlights, which may distract those seated behind them.

The History
Located on the east bank of the Fox River just west of Elgin's historic district, the 1,200-seat auditorium at Hemmens Cultural Center has been bringing performers such as Willie Nelson and Harry Belafonte to the far western suburbs since 1959.
