Cosy south of Market cafe and bar. Near SF Giants ballpark, and the train station.

The Brickhouse Bar and Cafe is at 426 Brannan between 3rd and 4th Streets. Full bar. Reasonable upscale pubgrub menu, with Kobe burgers, pastas, salads, etc.

Bar, booths, tables for about 50 on main floor. (Additional small upstairs loft area with space for group of around a dozen or so is sometimes reservable).

They are something between a neighborhood bar/bistro and an office area coffee and lunch place, so the schedule is odd. They're open from morning through dinner except for Sundays, (closed) and Mondays (open for the day shift, closed after 5:00 pm)

This venue hangs original artwork with a reasonable lead time, and is very artist-friendly, though the lighting is not great except during daylight hours.
