Since its inception back in the early 1950s HCA prides itself on offering a wide range of activities and services meeting the needs of our local community and surrounding area.

Our vast and comprehensive programme of activities, facilities and services at Merchistoun Hall promotes social, recreational and artistic interests whilst also supporting the local community being proactive in many other areas of the parish we serve.

HCA has forged many strong partnerships both locally and 'nationally' over the years to help it in its efforts to support the people of Horndean.

Merchistoun Hall is itself an unusual and impressive site for a community centre. Build some 2 - 300 years ago it now stands proud within the village as a Grade II listed building set in over 4 acres of beautiful parkland complete with free on site parking, lawn areas, surrounded by majestic trees of many varieties, a pond of historic value and a play park for childen.
