Murderous and mischievous secretaries running rampant, traditional Inuit hunters and time-honoured drum dances, the globalization of boom cities, a jazzy poetic triptych, an industrial dragon's lair and an emotionally stirring photograph-on-ceramic tribute… these are just some of the disparate and remarkable winning works of art in this year's BMO 1st Art! Invitational Student Art Competition.

An overwhelming 146 entries were received from every province and territory across Canada, reinforcing the growing reputation and esteem for the BMO 1St Art! awards. The winning works reveal the celebrated diversity of this country with each piece reflecting the uniqueness of both the artist and the community where it was created.
