The Hollywood Theatre was purchased by the Oregon Film & Video Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in 1997.

It is the intention of the foundation to preserve the Theatre and to create a center for film, video and multimedia education, training, and promotion for Oregon as well as serving as a facility for films, community, and private events.
