An architectural, historical gem...this Grade 1 listed, 16th century half-timbered hall is one of the north-west's most famous buildings. It was here, in 1779, that Samuel Crompton created a cotton spinning machine that became known as the spinning mule. The invention kick-started the industrial revolution and helped to put Bolton on the map.
