Description:
Located just east of The Promenade Shops, the 26-acre sculpture park serves as a cultural sanctuary and nature preserve within Centerra. The park features 82 stone pieces hand carved by artists from the Shona Tribe of Zimbabwe. The exhibit, An African Perspective of Family, incorporates eight themes including: Nature & Environment, Village Life, The Elders, Spirit World, Role of Women, Custom & Legend, The Family, and The Children.
A 1.5 mile concrete trail and signage guides visitors from The Promenade Shops through the park. Smaller gravel trails lead visitors to natural rock sitting areas, benches, and gathering plazas. In these pockets of retreat, visitors can relax and reflect upon the world-class art next to a stream that is shaded by old growth Cottonwood trees. The park also provides a restroom facility with a dog-friendly water fountain, emphasizing its welcome for every member of the family.
