Description:
From their website:
The Foundry came about because a group of several people who had begun to experience real community in their own lives developed some strong convictions about the world around them. Though the world we live in promotes isolation and individualism, we have come to realize the importance of having people in life who really know and care about you. The goal of the Foundry is to build such a community.
At the Foundry we have art shows, concerts, and poetry readings where people can express themselves artistically. We also have book discussions, film discussions, and speakers which give cause to consider the world around us; and caring for the world around us is a crucial part of what our community wants to do.
At the Foundry we are interested in issues of social justice. In whatever way possible, we would like to help the poor and downtrodden in this city. The Foundry hopes to encourage a Local Revolution in Omaha that puts into practice the radical idea of caring for others as much as yourself.
