The Avenues is one of the most momentous development in the retail industry of Kuwait. It is set to elevate the shopping experience in Kuwait to international levels and will establish new benchmarks and standards throughout the industry.

Scheduled for completion in 2007, it has a number of features that will place a shopping trip to The Avenues not only above that of its competitors, but also many international shopping malls:

* The Avenues is easily accessible from anywhere in Kuwait City in a location that will minimize traffic congestion and travel time.

Anchor tenants so far are Carrefour, Ikea, 10 screen cinema “Cinescape ’’ as well as Al Shaya Group. In Addition to this, The Avenues will offer it’s shoppers around 250 stores, 35 restaurants, cafes and coffee shops, a family entertainment center and a food court that will be veritable Theatre of Food. The extent of demand for space in the mall is borne out by the fact that the developer have had in excess of 700 applications from prospective tenants.

The mall, which will be the largest in Kuwait by a considerable margin, is being developed by Mabanee Company on a 425,000 m2 divided into 3 phases in the Al-Rai Area. The site is bounded by Fifth Ring Road to the south, Al-Ghazali Expressway to the east and mohammed bin Al-Qassim Street to the west.

Upon completion The Avenues will have:

* A gross built area of almost 500,000 m2
* Gross Leasable area (GLA) of 160,000 m2
* Parking for more than 6000 cars

Further development phases of the Al-Rai developments is currently under consideration by the master planners and consultants and completion of the project for 2008.
